Members of the student organization Proton achieved their first significant success on the international stage by taking part in the RoboTec competition held in Timișoara on May 24 this year. This prestigious competition brings together students from different countries, with the goal of showcasing their knowledge of robotics, electronics and programming through practical challenges.

Our competitors tried their hand at the freestyle track, where they had complete freedom in designing and implementing their solution. The Proton team developed a light follower robot — an autonomous robot that moves by following a light source or avoiding it, combining sensor processing, precise motor control and an efficient software solution.

During the competition, the robots were tested under real conditions, and the teams were evaluated based on functionality, operational stability, innovation and technical execution. Thanks to quality design and a successful implementation, the Proton team managed to stand out from the competition and take third place in its category.

This recognition is a great success for our members, as well as confirmation of the continuous work and effort that Proton invests in developing the practical knowledge of its members. Taking part in the RoboTec competition was a valuable experience, both from a technical standpoint and through the exchange of ideas and socializing with students from other countries.

Congratulations to our team on the third place and for representing the organization so well, and we look forward to their future projects and competitions!
